Tana Dialogues

The Tana Delta, a large coastal wetland located between Malindi and Lamu has been the scene of a violent conflict between Pokomo farmers and Orma livestock keepers in August and September 2012. In the meantime, on September 7^th the Tana delta was listed as a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention in recognition its rich and diverse natural and cultural heritage. As a signatory of the Ramsar convention, the Kenyan Government has committed therefore to fostering the wise use of the natural resources of this delta.
